NEW FOUNDATIONS CHARTER SCHOOL CAMPUS

 

AS THE LEAD ARCHITECTURAL FIRM FOR THE CAMPUS OF 4 DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES, j2A HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS FOR ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.  THE CAMPUS WAS CREATED BY REPURPOSING AN EXISTING SUPER MARKET.  FUTURE NEEDS AND GROWTH EXPANDED THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS TO 675 AND THE ADDITION OF A MIDDLE SCHOOL WAS DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED.   WITH THE SUCCESS OF THE SCHOOL AND THE DEMAND FOR MORE SPACE, J2A WAS COMMISSIONED TO DESIGN ADDITIONAL CLASSROOMS, SCIENCE LABS, MULTIPURPOSE ROOM, A GYMNASIUM AND  LECTURE HALLS TO ACCOMODATE THE NEEDS OF THE GROWING STUDENT POPULATION.  THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP FOR NEW FOUNDATIONS WAS TO CREATE A HIGH SCHOOL.  BY REPURPOSING THE WAREHOUSE BUILIDNG ADJACENT TO THE SITE, J2A CREATED A 9-12 HIGH SCHOOL  THE PROGRAM INCLUDED CLASSROOMS WITHIN THE 3 STORY BUILDING FOR ALL 4 GRADES, A STATE OF THE ART MULTI LEVEL MEDIA CENTER, GYMNASIUM AND FITNESS CENTER, CAFE STYLE FOOD SERVICE FACLITY, MULTIPLE SCIENCE LABS, ART FACLILTIES AND AN EXECUTIVE STYLE ADMINISTRATION OPERATION.
